Orbital - Green and Brown Albums Live at Manchester Victoria Warehouse

Forget rewind, Orbital sent Manchester hurtling through a time warp on Saturday with their electrifying live performance of the Green and Brown albums. The O2 Victoria Warehouse became a sonic temple, pulsating with the energy of a bygone era demonstrating why Orbital are techno royalty.

The Hartnoll brothers masterfully recreated the iconic tracks, transporting the crowd back to the heady days of early 90s rave.  From the opening strains of "The Moebius" to the euphoric finale of "Halcyon + On + On," the set was a tightly woven tapestry of nostalgia and pure dancefloor dynamite.

It wasn't just a note-for-note recreation though. Orbital infused the classics with a subtle modern sheen, proving their music's timeless quality. Tracks like "Lush" and "Chime" still possess the power to move a room, while the anthemic "Impact (The Earth is Burning)" felt even more relevant in today's climate.

The visuals were equally impressive. A mesmerizing lightshow danced in perfect harmony with the music, creating a captivating spectacle that mirrored the sonic journey.  The crowd, a mix of seasoned techno veterans and curious newcomers, responded with unbridled enthusiasm. Bodies moved, fists pumped, and the pure joy of experiencing this music live was palpable.  Manchester poet, Mike Garry, joined them on stage to perform the newest version of Belfast - Tonight in Belfast

They finished off with an encore of Spicy (an Orbital-take on the Spice Girls' Wannabe), Dirty Rat and the absolute banger that is Satan.

Orbital's Green & Brown Album Live! wasn't just a concert; it was a celebration of a genre-defining era.
